Requests for Quotation

How customers send freight quote requests (RFQs) on Laaimylorrie.com, and how members receive them and reply.

A request for quotation (RFQ) is how a customer asks for a freight quote. The site sends each request to listed companies that offer the service in the country the customer chose. This page explains both sides: sending a request, and receiving and answering one.

How do I request a freight quote?

You don't need an account to request a quote.

  1. Go to the home page or the Transport Directory and find Request a Freight Quotation.
  2. Under -- Service Required, choose the service you need.
  3. Under -- SADC Country, choose the country.
  4. Enter your e-mail address and contact number.
  5. Describe what you need in the description box: what the goods are, the weight or volume, pickup and delivery points and dates.
  6. Click Request Quote.

You see Your quotation request has been received and is being processed. You also get a Laaimylorrie - Quotation Request e-mail with your reference number.

What happens after I send a request?

Your request goes to the members in the country you chose who offer the service you selected. Interested transporters contact you directly, using the e-mail address and number you gave. You don't need to reply to the confirmation e-mail.

Tip

The more detail you give, the better the quotes. Include the cargo type, weight, route and dates.

Important

Laaimylorrie.com does not set prices or take part in the deal. Check the company before you accept a quote, and do not pay upfront without doing your checks.

As a member, how do I receive RFQs?

Requests reach you through your company profile. To receive them:

  1. Create a company profile under My Company then Profile. See Business directory.
  2. Add every service you offer to Selected Services.
  3. Make sure your Country is correct.
  4. Tick List in Business Directory and activate your profile by uploading a company document.

When a customer asks for one of your services in your country, you get an e-mail called Laaimylorrie - Request for Quotation.

Note

If you are not receiving requests, check your services, your country and that your directory listing is on.

How do I view and answer an RFQ?

  1. Log in and open RFQ's then RFQ's of interest.
  2. The list shows # RFQ Ref, Request Date, Service Required and Country.
  3. Click a request to open it. You see the customer's User Details (e-mail and phone number) and the Request Details.
  4. Contact the customer directly by e-mail or phone with your quotation.

There is no reply button on the site. You send your quote straight to the customer.

Tip

Customers often contact several companies. Reply quickly to give yourself the best chance.

Can I send an RFQ to my e-mail?

Yes. Open the request and click Forward RFQ to my Email Inbox. Confirm your e-mail address and click Confirm. You see Success: RFQ Delivered.

Can I see other requests?
